About Devso

Devso was founded in February 2010 although was originally called 'Boardies IT Solutions' until rebranded to Devso in 2022.

It started from a hobby project that I was working on for an Android mobile app and wanted a password management app. At the time, password managers weren't quite as common as they are now, and the ones that did exist were very clunky to use and required lots of back and fourth between the password app and where you are trying to login.

So in my spare time, I started to learn about Android development and started working on my own password management app which was called Boardies Password Manager. This was a simple and light weight application, which utilised Android notification system to allow quick copy and paste of the username and password. Something that I believe is still unique for all the password management apps that are now available - although nowadays this isn't a really requirement as Android has matured enough to be able to do autocomplete, this wasn't an option back when I did this.

I released the app to the play store and had a pretty good outcome. I didn't advertise the app anywhere, it just relied on people coming across it and word of mouth. I had several people directly contact me to let me know how much they like the concept of the notification and the app was used across the UK, US, South Africa, Australia and Brazil amongst others and had an average rating of 4.6 out of 5 on the play store.

Boardies Password Manager was made end of life a few years ago as unfortunately I never had the time to continue working on it and progress, and there are many different password apps now that work well and do what I required therefore my version was no longer required.

After this I started working on some other projects for Windows, although these projects are no longer available, but I am working on others, so check out mypersonal Twitteror Devso Twitter and myblog for updates on what I am working on.

One of these future projects is Log XPlore which is my on premise log monitoring solution built in Electron. This is still in development, but for more information, you can check out our our products and services page to find out more information on current and future projects.

Our main project at the moment is Crash Catch. This is my simple and lightweight crash monitoring service, for every developer, every platform no matter what you're development stack is. You can find more information by seeing ourProducts & Services or by vistinghttps://crashcatch.com.

Due to the number of years I have had doing development I have a vast array of knowledge and technologies, ranging from ReactJS, TailwindCSS, C++, C# and PHP to name a few, our focus while developing our products and services is to keep up to date with the latest technologies available where possible.

If you would like any more information or have any questions, then please feel free to get in touch with me, you can email us at [email protected], or visit our contact us  page for other ways to contact me.
